Former Washington Redskins Running Back Clinton Portis is among ten former NFL players changed with defrauding the NFL’s health care benefits plan for its retirees. The players are accused of allegedly submitting bogs health care claims and looking to be reimbursed for “expensive medical equipment” that was not purchased. According to reports, the scheme went from  June 2017 to December 2018. The players placed over $3 Million in Falce claims and were paid out up to $3.4 Million dollars.

Police revealed additional details Monday surrounding the fatal stabbing of a man inside of an Oxon Hill, MD Popeyes.

A call came in about the fight over the chicken sandwich around 7 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man in the parking lot suffering from stab wounds.

He was taken to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives are working to establish a suspect and a motive.

A person is dead after a Monday night stabbing inside of a Prince George’s County Popeyes.

Local news outlets report the incident happened on the 6200 block of Livingston Road in Oxon Hill.

Sources told Fox DC the assailant stabbed the victim during an altercation over a chicken sandwich.

Renowned Opera Singer Jessye Norman Dead At 74

Opera Singer Jessye Norman has died.

The world-renowned Soprano passed from septic shock and multiple organ failure following complications of a spinal cord injury she suffered in 2015, according to a statement by her family.

Norman’s historic career began in the late 1960s. After moving to Europe she won the ARD International Music Competition in Munich and landed a three-year contract with the Deutsche Opera Berlin. She also made her opera debut in Elisabeth Wagner’s “Tannhäuser.” Her accomplishments include five Grammy Winner, one of with for lifetime achievement in 2006. In 1997 she received the Kennedy Center honor along with various honorary doctorates and halls of fame awards.

 

Norman was 74.

Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri celebrated the team’s first NBA Title but may have been involved in a serious incident moments after the game.

According to NBC Bay Area, Ujiri is accused of pushing and hitting a Sheriff’s deputy after the Raptors 114-110 win against the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. You can see a video of the incident below.

Reports say that the Sheriff’s deputy denied Ujiri access to the court because he didn’t have proper credentials. Ujiri was not arrested and was able to go to the podium as the team accepted the Larry O’Brien Trophy as the first-ever Canadian NBA Champion.

The Washington Wizards reportedly are set to office Ujiri Multi-Year contract to oversee Basketball operations.

Man Sets Himself On Fire Outside The White House [Video]


An unidentified man set himself on fire at a park near the White House on Wednesday afternoon.  He possibly had on a protective suit during the incident that you can see above.

Authorities surrounded the man and used fire extinguishers and immediately took the man into custody and the hospital. No one else was injured in the incident. The Secret Service is aware of the matter. No word on if they are investigating the event.

No word on the man’s current condition.

Nathaniel Taylor Of ‘Sanford And Son’ Dead At 80

Nathaniel Taylor, best known for his role as “Rollo Lawson,” from the 70’s television show “Sanford and Son” has passed away.

Taylor played the role of “Rollo,” friend of Lamont Sanford (played by Demond Wilson) on the classic Redd Foxx show from 1972 to 1977.  Taylor’s death was confirmed by promoter and family friend, Alonzo Williams.

“Today black Hollywood lost a 70s legend Nathaniel Taylor better known as “Rolo” of the hit show Sanford and son past Feb 27th at UCLA medical center of complications from a recent heart attack. Taylors character on Sanford and was the lovable, funny but questionable friend of Lamont the co-star of the show. Services are yet to be announced.”

After the end of Sanford and Son, Taylor returned to the famous character in the short-lived spin-off “Sanford” in 1980-1981. He also played Ike, Rerun’s uncle, on two episodes of “What’s Happening!!.”

Film roles include “Trouble Man” (1972) “As Above, So Below” (1973) and “The Hunter” (1980).

Taylor was 80 years old.

The Chicago Police Department has a question to ask Jussie Smollett: Did you set up your own attack?

Police officials in Chicago denied an early report that stated that the Empire star may have set up his own attack but now CNN is reported that they are investigating if it indeed happened. The news network is reporting that two law enforcement sources with knowledge of the investigation told them that Chicago Police believe Jussie Smollett paid two men to assault them on January 29th. This is after CPD released the two men who are brothers from custody accused of beating Smollett on Friday night citing “new evidence.”

Sources state that the two brothers purchased the rope found around Smollett’s neck at an Ace Hardware store in Chicago near Smollet’s home. Smollett told Chicago police that he was attacked by two men and they shouted racist and homophobic epithets before punching him. He also said that the men placed a rope around his neck. Bleach was also reportedly used in the attack. Smollett gave details on the attack with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America.

One of the greatest players and pioneers in Major League Baseball has passed away.

Hall of Famer Frank Robinson died on Thursday in Los Angeles after a battle with bone cancer.

Robinson’s career started in 1956 after being drafted by the Cincinnati Reds. He hit a then-record 38 home runs as a rookie and won the National League’s Rookie of the Year award. In 1961 he helped lead the Reds to the NL pennant and one the league’s Most Valuable Player award. After being traded to the Baltimore Orioles in 1966, he led the team to it’s first World Series and won the American League MVP, becoming the first man in Baseball history to win the award in both leagues.

In Robinson’s Baseball career he became the only player to win the MLB Most Valuable Player Award in both the National League and American League. A 14-time all-star, he won the Triple Crown, was a member of two teams that won the World Series (the 1966 and 1970 Baltimore Orioles) and hit the fourth-most career home runs at the time of his retirement. Robinson was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.

Robinson legacy continues after retirement, becoming the first African-American manager in Major League Baseball history. Robinson became the manager while playing for the Cleveland Indians in 1977. His management career lasted 4 decades, ending with the Nationals in 2006.

Robinson is survived by his wife, Barbara, a son and a daughter.

According to reports, Congress and Donald Trump have reached a tentative deal to Temporary end the partial Government Shutdown. With Trump’s Approval, the deal would reopen the government for three weeks. The 5.7 Billion Trump wants for the wall to block the southern border would still be on the table with more talks scheduled.

Senate leaders have been working to put together a short-term deal that would work for Trump to end the partial shutdown. The calls to end the record long shutdown grew louder after airport delays across the country due to lack of employees able to work.

On Friday, January 25th, the shutdown reached its 35th day and about 800,000 government workers missed another paycheck.

Things are looking murky for the Trump Administration.

Donald Trump informal advisor Roger Stone was arrested by the FBI in Florida on Friday morning.

According to the Robert Mueller investigation, Stone faces charges on seven counts. One count of obstruction of an official proceeding, five counts of false statements, and one count of witness tampering.

Stone will appear in court later on Friday.
