Bobbi Kristina and The Houston family have embarked on a journey of discovery in their new Lifetime reality show, The Houston’s On Our Own but they’ve also received a ton of negative criticism over the way the teen is being portrayed.

Throughout the 14 episode half-hour series, viewers are seeing the Houston Family as they come together to deal with the loss of Whitney and focus on Krissy, the 19 year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney, and the only heir to her mother’s estate.

This is truly a journey through the emotional spaces of a family that has been public for so many years.

Of course you already know that Bobbi K has heard (and/or read) what’s being said about her and her family and I’m almost positive she and her brother/boyfriend Nick Gordon, visit the blogs to read up about their antics.

In light of all the naysayers, Bobbi Kristina has issued a statement of sorts to address her critics.

I am Bobbi Kristina Brown. I am 19 years old and my mother just recently passed. I’m definitely not saying I have my good and my bad days but my family is behind me to protect me.

*If you’re a fan of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” you know that actress and former Miss America Kenya Moore has joined the show.

It seems her role is that of sh*t starter … one she seems to relish. And in that role, she’s being seen as a home-wrecker by supposedly having feelings for Apollo, the husband of Phaedra Parks.

However, this morning, Kenya went on the Tom Joyner Morning Show to set the record straight

TOM JOYNER:  Do you like your image on Real Housewives of Atlanta?

KENYA MOORE:  I think, you know, it’s taken some time for me to adjust on the editing process.  I think, you know, people that know me and have known me for the last 20 years in the business I’ve definitely been, you know, a classy woman.  I’ve been articulate.  I’m a lot of things.  And the show seems to be moving my, you know, editing process, or my image in a certain direction.

SYBIL WILKES:  I must admit, I mean, I think from what we saw with Cynthia, and then what they have, they have foreshadowed, as far as your relationship with Phaedra and Apollo also indicates that you’re not the classy woman that you are…

KENYA MOORE:  Well, that’s the key word that you just said, indicate.  I think that that’s what gets, you know, people in trouble.  I think you need to watch the show because, you know, when you have a teaser out there, or what most people would consider commercial, you, they’re designed to make you want to tune in.  So some things are definitely taken out of context, and let me be the first to say I’m not interested in anybody’s husband.  Not Phaedra’s, not anybody else’s.  So you can put that on the record.

Aretha’s Rescheduled NY and NJ Concert Dates Are Now Confirmed

*Aretha Franklin’s concert dates for New York and New Jersey, which were recently rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath, according to her publicist, Gwendolyn Quinn, have been rescheduled.

Aretha’s concerts are now confirmed for Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York and Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Oprah Winfrey Paid For Her Father’s Divorce in FULL!

*Oprah Winfrey agreed to reach into her own deep pockets to help her father Vernon Winfrey divorce his wife Barbara, according to the National Enquirer.

Vernon Winfrey, 79, decided to break up with Barbara, his wife of 12 years, after growing impatient with her spending habits, which he says almost cost him his barbershop business.  After confiding his concerns to his daughter’s long-term partner Stedman Graham, Oprah stepped in to help.

Vernon said: ”One day when Stedman was in town for a speaking engagement, I told him over dinner what was going on and that I didn’t know how I was going to handle it but I wanted out of my marriage.

”He asked if I needed help and I said ‘Yes I believe so’. He immediately told Oprah and she told me to hire attorneys and she would take care of it.”

Vernon filed for divorce in June and claims his wife spent most of his money and is refusing to leave the $1.6 million Nashville home Oprah bought for him.

He told the Enquirer: ”I’ve filed for divorce and moved out of the beautiful home Oprah bought me to live in but I don’t own it. Barbara was spending money as if I were Oprah.”

Toni Braxton Loses Home to Foreclosure

Another one bites the dust for bankrupt Toni Braxton … the singer’s Georgia mansion — the one she desperately tried to save from foreclosure — is officially up for grabs to anyone with a spare $1.1 million.

Braxton took out a loan for the Duluth, GA crib back in 2004 for $1.5 million — but according to the bank, she failed to make at least 10 monthly payments between 2004 and 2010.

As TMZ first reported, the singer filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2010 — during which time she tried to save the home from being sold off. It didn’t work.

Here’s what she’s losing … 11,400 square feet,  6-bedrooms, 6-baths, an acre of land, jacuzzi tub, gourmet kitchen and a library.

FYI — This is the second house Braxton lost to foreclosure. Her Nevada pad was sold off back in 2010.

And Fun Fact: The house was featured on Braxton’s reality show “Braxton Family Values.” Safe to say they won’t be holding any reunion specials there.

 

Jennifer Hudson Says She’s Done With Losing Weight

After losing more than 80 pounds, Jennifer Hudson, one of Weight Watcher’s big success stories, says she’s done losing any more weight.

“I’m at the weight I want to be,” the 31 year old tells Redbook magazine. “But I hear all the time, ‘Don’t lose any more weight, you need to stop.’ People are under the impression that I’m still losing but I’m not.”

In 2009, Hudson and fiancé David Otunga welcomed their first child, David Daniel Otunga Jr. Her body transformation — she went from a size 16 to a size 6 — since giving birth three years ago is something the “Dreamgirls” star says she’s still adjusting to.

“I’m getting used to my new self more than anything else. I got used to being plus-sized and knowing how to be that, whereas this is like, ‘Okay, who am I?’ I keep thinking that I probably need an extra-large or a large and the stylist is like, ‘No, you need a medium or a small.’”

Can Friends With Benefits Work? [Original]

With so many movies out about Friends with Benefits, it begs the question: Can it really work?

It really depends on the people and the situation, but there are pros and cons to both.

Pros:

You’re with someone who you’re already close to

Being friends with the person before taking things to another level means you already know a lot about the person. You know what they like, and what they’re looking for. There’s no pretending or trying to hide who you really are because it’s all out there for them to see.

You know how to communicate with each other

Since you’re friends, at this point you’ve probably already figured out how to speak to them.

Cons:

The friendship can end

Getting involved with a friend means you have to accept the risk. There’s a chance you will lose the friendship you once had.

Someone might want something more

If one of the friends wants to be in a relationship, and the other doesn’t… it can strain what was there.

Emotions and Miscommunication

While friends with benefits isn’t an official relationship, emotions and miscommunication can creep in.

Getting romantically involved with a friend is something that needs a lot of consideration. There’s a chance that a relationship can stem from it. And if you aren’t ready for that, talking about where things are going can help. It’s important to remember that things can get complicated if you don’t talk it out and lay out ground rules.

We haven’t even seen the new season of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” yet, but it’s painfully obvious that Kenya Moore is an instigator.

Maybe it’s too much beauty on the show; and some people are feeling a bit intimidated. Whatever it is, Moore, 41, knows she’s wrong for the tension easily felt through the television screen.

She recently admitted the drama is coming from her.

“[Cynthia] was being disrespectful and overstepping her boundaries, so I had to let her know that, that wasn’t acceptable to me. It resulted in security being called,” Moore told People. But she denies there was any pulling of weaves and such.

Umm hmm.

Funny thing is, the former beauty queen attempted to detach herself from the stereotypical “RHoA” showcasing, but said she’s in the center of all the madness.

“I am in the middle of most of it, and probably cause most of it. I went through a lot of ups and downs with the women on the show,” Kenya said. “So far, people have been saying I’m their favorite, and they haven’t seen one episode!” she adds.

Who said that? We need proof.

Remember she’s supposed to be in the middle of someone’s relationship too. Umm hmm. Some favorite…

Cuffing season is upon us and winter is the worse season to lose that special someone over an argument. Instead of going through heartbreak and disappointment, check out these top 10 arguments to avoid while in a relationship.

10.) Guys, Don’t Talk About Her Style

Let’s face it. One of a girlfriend’s responsibilities is to make sure her boyfriend’s style is up to date. Just because she dresses you, does not mean you can do the same. Men should refrain from negative clothing references! If a negative comment happens to slip out…apologize immediately!

9.) Cooking 101

Every guy likes a girl that can cook! We all know the saying, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”, especially if he’s use to his mama throwing down in the kitchen. If you know your cooking is not edible, don’t trip when he does not lick the plate. Instead, be honest and up front with him. Tell him you don’t know how to cook but that you two should explore the kitchen together. It may lead to a hobby you two can share!

8.) Leave Exes in the PAST

Men and women should refrain from comparing exes to current significant others. Your exes are in your past for a reason try not to bring them up in a current relationship.

7.) Just Let Me Drive

Quite a lot of arguments occur in the car, whether she’s driving too slow or he refuses to pull over and ask for directions. Take car trips as an opportunity to learn more about each other.

6.) Who’s the Money Maker?

.  While money is important in a relationship, using someone’s financial situation against them in an argument is low and could quickly end a relationship. Don’t be that person who uses a person’s finances to make them feel worthless in an argument.

5.) Don’t Talk About My Friends!

If you don’t have anything nice to say about your significant other’s friends…. It’s best to keep your comments to yourself. Don’t try it.

4.) Bathroom Tendencies

We all have bad habits that stem from bathroom tendencies. Ladies stop clogging the sink with your hair, and guys please put the toilet seat down. Eventually these habits will turn in to unnecessary arguments.

3.) Occasional Glances

Glances behind your significant others back is bound to stir up an argument. Some couples live by the motto “Look but don’t touch”. Unless you and your partner have this mutual understanding, it’s best to keep your eyes to yourself.

2.) Family Events

The holiday season is upon us which means it’s time to prepare for family encounters. When dealing with your spouse’s family there is only one motto to live by, “Put Up or Shut Up”.

1.) Let Me See Your Phone

In this technological age, there are a number of sneaky ways you or your partner could be caught hiding pictures and texts. To prevent an argument from arising when your spouse asks to see your phone, don’t have any questionable material stored in your technological device.

Faith Evans is doing reality television differently with “R&B Divas.”

While the competition continues to receive harsh criticism for the constant drama, hair pulling and cat fighting, the singer and now reality star says it’s not necessary.

“I think it’s a personal decision of how you choose to portray yourself on camera or off camera. Everything ain’t for everybody, but that’s a personal decision if you choose to portray yourself in a certain light be it for money, fame or whatever,” she says in an interview with Vibe. “That’s something that you’re eventually going to have to deal with the repercussions of.”

“R&B Divas” was created with a more positive intent, showing viewers that Black women can be civilized businesswomen without biting off each other’s heads.

The show is back for a second season and faith is working on new music.

Faith says she’s got a lot of material lined up for her fans. The album should be out some time next year.

Aretha Franklin Will Sing the National Anthem At World Series

According to reports, the legendary icon will sing the national anthem on Monday, Oct. 29, at Detroit’s Commerica Park.

The Queen of Soul will bless the game, giving fans a night they’ll never forget.

*Whitney Houston’s mother Cissy Houston fears she has little influence over the late superstar’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown because she never got the chance to spend quality time with her grandchild as she was growing up.

“When you have a teenager who’s 19-years-old, who loses her mother and really don’t feel like she has to listen… you can’t make anybody do anything,” said Cissy this morning on The View, appearing with her son Gary Houston and daughter-in-law Pat. “You try to suggest and you try to guide her and all that kinda business and that’s exactly what we’re trying to do, trying to guide her into a life that’s going to make her better…

“A lot of times (I think) I might make a bigger difference, maybe, but I’ve never been around her that much because she was always on the road with her mom.”

As a precaution, the executors of Whitney Houston’s estate (her mother and sister-in-law Marion Houston) – recently filed a legal petition to restructure inheritance payments to Bobbi Kristina in a bid to protect her fortune.

The drama with Bobbi Kristina will be seen on the Lifetime reality series “The Houstons: On Our Own,” premiering Oct. 24 at 9 p.m.

Evander Holyfield Decides to Unretire From Boxing

Evander Holyfield is the Brett Favre of boxing … minus the self-penis pics … ’cause less than 2 weeks after telling TMZ he was retiring, Evander says he’s changed his mind.

The 50-year-old boxer was leaving Boa in Hollywood this weekend when he made it clear … he was just confused when he called it quits earlier this month … and says he WILL fight again.

In fact, Holyfield says he still believes he’s a serious contender for the title.

When asked how many more years he has left in the sport, Evander responded, “I don’t know … one day at a time.”

FYI — the oldest fighter to ever win the world Heavyweight Championship is George Foreman … but he was 45 at the time.

 

Chaka Khan Gears Up To Tour The World

EURWEB.COM – Chaka Khan is on a role. The award winning diva is gearing up for a European tour, along with David Foster and Friends.

Next year will be Chaka’s 40th anniversary in the music and entertainment industry, and she’s starting the celebration early. The tour kicked off in Bratislava, Slovakia yesterday.

Between concert dates and work with her Foundation, Chaka has been in the studio working on new music.
