Glenn "Golden Boy" Cooper gcooper@radio-one.com Glenn "Golden Boy" Cooper broke ground in Houston, TX from 97.9FM The Box in 1992 as Houston's No. #1 6-10 night jock. He then moved to Philadelphia in 1994 as the host of the Power 99FM 6-10 p.m. Night Show and Music Director making him Philadelphia's #1 night jock for 5 consecutive years. Golden Boy was moved to the afternoon drive, where his show was renamed "Gold in the Afternoons". Gold took afternoons from #3 straight to No. #1 on the first book and remained #1 for another 4 years." For all of his hard work he was promoted to Assistant Program Director while still holding down the afternoons shift. In 2001 he was appointed WUSL Power 99 FM's Program Director. In 2002 while working as PD he remained on air and took over as the lead jock for Philly's hottest and newest member to the famous mornings show, which he renamed "The Dream Team", there he took the show to become the No. # 1 rated morning show. In 2004 Gold moved to Mid-day, there he took the show from #3 to the No. # 1 spot. Gold has won numerous awards' in the Music Field; MD of the Year, Assist PD of the Year and was nominated as Bill Boards PD of the Year. Over his 20 years in radio Gold is a humble and well-respected name in the radio industry, as a true programmer and an avid music lover. One of Gold’s greatest attributes is love for working within the community from which he has also received countless awards for his civic duties. In 2005 Gold moved his family back to where it all began in Houston TX. Gold has also done Two Station’s On-Air 2p-7p Sat. Afternoon’s and 4p-8p Sunday’s on Majic 102.1 Houston, Plus The Host of The “Golden Club” 7p-12a Friday and Saturday Night’s on 100.3 WRNB Philadelphia. Gold is now making a Transition back to Philadelphia by Radio-One’s Inc. request for the New Launch of 100.3 WRNB
