With the resurgence of the New York Knicks and the relocation of the Nets to Brooklyn, their interstate NBA rivalry has become an inter-borough fight for dominance in the Big Apple.
In the latest NBA commercial “The King Of New York” longtime Knicks fan Spike Lee relives a game when Knicks legend Bernard King–from Brooklyn–torched the Nets for 60 points.
“It was 1984, The Garden was packed and I’m sittin in the last row. I could touch the roof!” says an excited Spike. “And Bernard King, he was giving The Nets the BUSINESS!” Watch the full clip below.
