Philadelphia has seen its share of violent crimes in 2012, and the murder rate is no exception. To date, Philadelphia has had 252 murders as of Sept 13th. Thats 14% more murders than Sept 13th of 2011. City officials have tried their best to create initiatives for combating such high homicide rates. Mayor Nutter even put a bounty on the heads of criminals who commit a homicide and carry illegal guns. He proposed that the city will pay up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of someone for homicide. Even with the states Mandatory Minimum” sentencing for certain crimes committed with guns, murders still continue to happen at a faster rate than last year’s 324 homicides.

So what can we do?

Our Friends over at Fox 29 Philly put together this amazing video, which bring awareness to the homicide epidemic that plagues our great city. Please watch this video and share it with as many people as possible. The city needs our help if we are to change our streets for better. Murder and homicides can not be tolerated and it’s up to us to make the change.
