FDA Approves First Take Home HIV Test

The Food and Drug Administration has approved the first over the counter HIV test, allowing Americans to test themselves in the privacy of their homes. The Ora Quick test is designed to detect the virus through saliva in about 20 to 40 minutes.  Government officials suspect that about 240,000 Americans are effected with the disease and are not aware. The FDA has stressed that results found using Ora Quick are not 100 % accurate.
